What sparked us to starting our company?
The name of the company derived from Sam's nickname, given to her by her husband Siep, "Sammy Manter". After having been diving with these beautiful graceful creatures in the Maldives and in Indonesia we got inspired to design a logo incorporating their simplistic beauty and starting a company similar to my original name Samantha, hence the company Sa-Manta was formed.
One day after a long hike wearing my old Tshirts - with holes in, which I have been wearing for the last 2 years (living out of my suitcase) I looked at Siep and said it was time to buy some new shirts. I went to have a look but nothing I saw caught my eye. That is when we decided to start desgning shirts for ourselves. I figured if I am going to spend money on buying new shirts to replace my old ones then I want to have them exactly the way I want them.
We were approached by several individuals saying we do not dive but are interested in your products but do not want to wear shirts only designed for divers, so we came up with shirts showing our passion for the ocean as well as awareness for the environment without being specifially for divers.
So the tshirt business suddenly came a live. As more people started seeing our designs, other companies, but also individuals started approaching us asking us to design Tshirts, hats, bottles, towels etc. for them.

Our goals and our legacy
Our goal for our company is to create a website where people get inspiration about travelling and learning to just say "yes" to a new challenge despite the fact that the ending has yet to be written... make sure you are busy living and not just existing!
What makes Sa-Manta unique?
The company was started for us at first because we really wanted to have fun dive shirts. Soon our friends and families caught wind and now, it has taken off.
